Mutation Story

Part 1: Mutation Story

  1. As a gene I morphed into my body.
  2.  what caused my mutation was something that happened when I was inside the mothers stomach.
  3. It caused mutations to his physical and emotional appearance.
  4. His life was boring, but some people would be open for some new friends, he had lots of friends, but his life wasn’t very active from his mutation.

Part 2: The Making of Mutation Story

  1. I did not research at all. I thought of what I remember about the mutation and its effects.
  2. I did not use any new tools, just my brain.
  3. I just thought of the effects of the mutation I got, and then I described it above.
  4. I tried my best to figure out if my knowledge was true of not. I later figured it out that it was true.
  5. I could have had more detail added on to this, but I decided to keep it short and simple for sake of time.

Science App Review

The app that I found is called: “Gene Machine: The Lac Operon”

Screenshot_2016-01-08-10-13-53

This is a picture I took before playing the app.

After playing this, I have some questions that need to be answered.

1. What is the point of the game? The point of this game is to see the lactose levels and keep it under control.

2. Is this game fun? I think this game is fun, you could probably play it for atleast an hour before loosing interest.

3. Is the game worth playing? I think you should try the game for yourself, see how you like it. But I think you should play it.

4. What are three good things about this game? a) It is entertaining b) It describes how we keep our lactose levels under control c) And it tells us about new things we have never heard of.

5. Who made this game and why? PHET made this game and they made it because it is educational and very fun to play.

6. And is this game easy or hard? I think this game is easy, but takes a little bit to get use to. If you play it enough, for sure it is easy.

The app is all about seeing lactose levels and how to keep them under control.

Edible DNA Structure

20160105_094808 20160105_094731 20160105_094008

1. What is DNA? Describe it’s structure.

Deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information.

2. Explain what the following parts of the model represent:

Licorice: The licorice represents the DNA, sort of spine, or backbone, holding the structure together.

Green Marshmallow: This marshmallow represents the Guanine (G) on the DNA.

Orange Marshmallow: This marshmallow represents the Thymine (T) on the DNA.

Yellow Marshmallow: This marshmallow represents the Adenine (A) on the DNA.

Pink Marshmallow: This marshmallow represents the Cytosine on the DNA.

Toothpick: The toothpicks represent the braces, holding the 2 backbone parts together, making it the DNA.

“Taming of the Shrew” Stop Motion Induction Scene

The stop motion project was contrived by the directors Aaron Quilapio: the editor, Jan Luis Regacho: the photographer, and Timothy Harrison: the supplier. The project represents the induction scene and the beginning of the inset of a play, “Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare. The induction of this project was shown to the audience in the beginning. The induction starts when Sly is intoxicated and continues to ignore the hostess’ threats until he passed out. The inset was produced to the audience near the end of the project where Sly and the page watch as the players do their performance. The directors used Legos to contrive several platforms and props such as the stage floor and the king’s bed. There are plenty of downsides upon making this project such as the amount of frames needed to produce this masterpiece which approximately took more than 300 frames and the amount of precision and accuracy needed to make such project is exorbitantly colossal which was a very difficult task that this group had to face. The group has learned a great quantity of information about this project such as encountering and using new apps such as PicPac and Video Editor. The project has also taught the group that performing tasks such as this could be done easier through cooperation.

BC Power Story

How is energy in BC Produced?

All people, everywhere, use energy. The sources and the way those sources are harvested, developed, and applied, range drastically. From the use of biomass like wood to light fires in Africa, to the use of natural gas to run stoves in Canada, and all manner of other energy uses in between, energy is an integral component of our daily lives. Humans may use energy for cooking, for tavel, or to power electronic devices. They mause it sparingly, or wastefully, consciously, or blissfully unaware of where it comes from. Where it comes from has been of great consequence in recent times, as our most important energy sources — crude oil, natural gas and coal — are finite. They will not last forever. And while they are in supply, their use contributes to Global Warming and a host of Other Impacts. electricity This is a diagram of how electricity is tramitted from around this location. First it goes from the fossil fuels, the coal goes into the coal power plant, the coals turns into electricity, and tada! The power is sent throughout the city that the plant is in. 🙂

Expanding Universe

1. Explain what the balloon + dots represent. The ballon represent the universe, the dots represent the galaxies next to ours.

2. Which letter(s) moved the farthest from M? Which moved the least? The letter A moved the least, it went from 5cm away to 8cm away. The leter e moved the most, from 15cm to 37cm

3. Summarize the trend: the movement of glaxaies related to distance from M. The galaxies (dots), moved farther away from m because the balloon iss stretching, so each part of the balloon gets thinner and appears like the drawings are getting farther apart. This is because of the strecthing.

4.How does this experiment model what is occuring in our expanding universe? Because the balloon, when you blow more air into it, the rhbber balloon will expand and create the effects of the galaxies moving farther apart from eachother.

5. In what way does a balloon NOT represent the universe. It does not represent the universe because the galaxies are not expanding that fast, it takes a century for the galaxies to move about 1000 miles or 1609.344 kilometers.

Propaganda Poster Project

In my propoganda poster, I have used bandwagon, fear, repetition, and plain folks. These are all types of propaganda, and the humans have shot poor old hare in the waist area. Mr. Wolf had found him dead, Mr. Wolfis very upset. Mr. Wolf is trying to gather everyone he can, repeating, “join us, or DIE,” and “death comes upon who disobey!” Mr. Wolf is trying to defeat his enemy, the humans! The humans are very dangerous to him and everyone else in this animal kingdom. Some pigs are in the distance saying, “we will help you!” Mr. Wolf is very happy about that. Mr. Wolf says that the humans are going around, shooting more animals as he speaks.Mr. Wolf is also saying, “LOOK! What the humans did!” And Mr. Wolf feels great about what he is doing, helping animals survive, always stay in packs, or you will die. Mr. Wolf is now starting up for his big army, gathering everyone near him, he is gonna kill every human that has ever ate or killed an animal, “vegans are good!” He yelled out loud. He was very impressed about what he had done, he will never forget what happened that day. Mr. Wolf has gathered over 2000 troops, him and the 2000 troops, all have a 4 day long Conversation of how the next few weeks of terror fo the humans will be.20151030_142323

Digital Footprint

How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

1) My digital footprint might affect my future in a way that will help me get a job so I could get money and afford a house, and live a good healthy life.
2) My digital footprint might also help me with my social life, for example; I might be able to get a good social life, and make lots of friends for my future life, going out a lot, and even having fun and driving around the city where ever I when I grow up.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

I can keep my digital footprint safe and appropriate by not posting anything to personal, like where I live and when I was born, even the license plate number of my car is, if I ever get a car.

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

I learned how to use edublog properly and post stuff, in fact my English teacher, Mr. Barazzuol, made me film a video on my tablet about how to post things on edublog properly, he shows me an in-depth view of how to post something on my edublog. I would tell someone “To put something on your edublog, you hover over post with your mouse curser, then you click on add new post, then you just type in the name of your post, then in the description, you type in what ever you want to put in there that describes the name of your post” that is how I would say it to someone that needs help putting a post on their edublog.

“The Secluded Lot” Graphic Novel

Exposition:

I’d like to inquire about a lot (page 115).

Rising Action 1:

“This Section just opened up last year” (page 115).

Rising Action 2:

“We’ve still a few left in the older sections-at various price ranges. The Avenue lots are more expensive, of course” (page 116).

Rising Action 3:

All winter Mr. Jerome, the head gardener and the men at the reenhouse had planned and anticipated just this impression (page 116).

Climax:

“Well, here we are,” Mr. Jerome said brightly. It was in far worse condition than he remembered and quite inaccessible. Besides, a bramble had caught on the sleeve of his good suit and left a slight tear (page 117).

Falling Action 1:

Mr. Jerome was glad to be back in the safety of his mahogany office again. Carefully he crossed out the Perpetual Care clause as instructed his secretary, Miss Jones, to type in the old man’s name on the blank lines between the small print – Mortimer Blake (page 118).

Falling Action 2:

On the other side of the thicket he was surprised to find Mr. Blake stooping over a high, square, white box, intent on fixing something. A bee circled slowly overhead, then dove for its target (page 119).

Denouement:

The old man straightened and looked at him proudly. “Mr. Jerome, I have reached an important decision: I should like to buy another lot” (page 120).
