 Mixed forest, This picture represents the lowlands because you can see how the weathering and the erosion shaped the landscape.

Coaniferous forest, tundra, Subarctic , mixed forest, This picture is from Nunavut and it shows the tundra region of the Canadian Shield.

Arctic Region

 Subarctic, tundra. You can see in this picture how all the sedimentary rock pushed up and formed mountains.

Appalachian Region

 open woodland, coniferous forest. This picture is a good way to show the Appalachians because they have very small mountains and lots of rolling hills.

  1. Remember that this section was to focus on the vegetation. You’ve listed the biomes for each physiographic region but you want to find an image that highlights the biome. What types of plant life would we expect to see in these images for the different biomes?
