Terminology for EFP 11
- Go over some key ideas from the first PPT
- The idea of “otherness” Linguistic otherness is associated with ethnic otherness, and both are associated with fear. This course is about learning about the First Peoples of Canada BUT it is also about you- we are all connected!
- Place-based learning:Place-concious learning is focused on the strong relationships made between people, societies, and their natural surroundings. They acknowledge that learning requires more than simply theoretical information, as you will also need to understand the place where someone lives. Local history, culture, and narratives are all cherished, encouraging students to see the land not just as a place but as something spiritual, cultural, and communally important. It is where one feels their identity.

Todays prompt: When have you been any of these qualities? (I will project the quote)
After going over the syllabus, you will be asked to do the Scavenger Hunt found in TEAMS. This will help you understand the course and my use of Edublog.
