Real Motion Moments

This Video has both the acceleration and velocity concepts. I chose this because it can you give you a good understanding while being catching and fun at the same time.

This video educates you on speed and velocity. it has equations and also explains what velocity it and how you work it into equations. It is very helpful when needing to understand something that you are having trouble with. with over course making it fun and interesting.

This video isn’t that amusing but I thought it gave a good understanding of how acceleration works and described it using a car which we use everyday so it would be relatively familiar to get to undertsand

Float Your Boat

  1. The problem of this experiment  is that my group and I need to construct a boat to hold a penny when placed in water. This boat needs to be made of tin foil, wooden stir sticks, straws and tape.
  2. If we make the boat with sides and the wooden stir sticks in the middle then the this structure should provide quite a bit of support because of the sides preventing the water from spilling in and the wooden stir sticks in the middle preventing the boat from sagging right away with the weight of the pennies.
  3.  During our experiment our boat held 34 pennies
  4. While designing our boat we thought almost raft like and then altered it a little bit. We first thought to put the wooden stir sticks across the bottom on top of the tin foil. This I think gave the boat the most structure because it prevented the boat form sagging whereas some boats did not have that support and their boat sank quicker.
  5. If I could change this boat a bit I would build up the sides more because in my opinion that was what got us in the end.
