SMART GOALS reflection – science 9

During the last week I set a goal for myself to walk at least 2 times a day to a place that I needed to go instead of driving. Here is my reflection on how it went;

  1. What was your goal?

My goal was to walk to places I needed to go at least twice a day.

  1. Did you achieve it? How or how not?

I did not achieve my goal because I found it hard to add an extra 20 minutes or more to my travel time because I am really busy outside of school. I think a more realistic goal would have been to take transit and/or carpool.

  1. What was the most challenging part of achieving your goal?

Doing it twice in a day. I could usually walk to school or home, but I couldn’t do both and my activates outside of school are way to far to walk.

  1. What would you do differently next time?

Probably take transit to help reduce my footprint instead of walk because that is still one less vehicle on the road. I think I would need to do a little research on the system, but I might even be able to extend this to my after-school activities which is way more realistic then walking there.

  1. Will you continue on with this type of goal? If you do, explain what you will do. If not, explain why you are satisfied with where you are at.

I think I will continue with a similar goal but not the same. I will try and take transit or carpool at least 2 times a day.
