Science Power Information Fluently.

Dear Justin Trudeau,
In Canada every year we go through 179,000 per year and only 6% get recycled (that’s only 10740 Batteries). I think that instead of using so many batteries and selling them as huge packs, we should only sell few in a pack with a solar powered charging station. Almost like a wireless charger for your phone, but for batteries. with this new found batterie we can help the earth and the landfills by getting rid of all the batteries that get thrown away in the in correct places, with this being said of course we would need a new batterie pack every few years, but whose to say we can’t recycle the used ones? the benefit of recycling the solar powered batteries include: less in landfills, can be made into the charging stations that the batteries come with, can be melted for their metals for work purposes, etc. Because we are the in middle of a global pandemic this would be very useful in the case that we wouldn’t have to leave our houses to get batteries in case the power goes up, so there goes the risk of A) getting COVID-19 and B) Only using batteries for a limited time then thoweninng them out. please consider my idea as this would effect our eceomy in wonderful ways!

thank you, Sophia Dato.

Questions:

1: how many barreries do we thrown away per year?

how many batteries do Canadians use?

can battires be melted down?

how can barreries be reused?

what can batteries be recycled into?

2: google scholar and Mr. Robinson’s video/ Edublog post.

3: I laid out my bog questions and connected smaller questions it, then took those small questions and looked them up, giving y my ability to write the letter to Justin Trudeau.

4: I asked my student peers and student teacher family member what sites I should use for the best results.

5: the process went well, no bumps or scrapes along the way. one of my bad habits is that I leave everything to the last minute, so I was rushed with the writing pertain of this challenge.

  1. Excellent information fluency post. I really like how you have found some great sub-questions to lead you to get a well-rounded perspective on your topic. You might want to check your first sentence as the word batteries should be after 179,000. You have done a great job sharing the digital tools you used but you could do a better job citing your sources. Good debrief on your product and process as well. Why do you think we don’t use more rechargeable batteries?
