2 reasons why Scout would make a great friend

She’s straight savageeeee….

Scout says what’s ever on her mind! It could be because she’s what, 7 years old00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000? That’s besides the point. She blurs out questions like “Is your dad dead” and when Atticus asked her, “How’d you like for your Aunt to come live with us?” (p.128, Harper Lee), she said she “would like it very much”, which she said was a lie, “but one must lie under certain circumstances.” She lied to her own father that she respects very much! I would have done the same. I wouldn’t want my father thinking I hate my aunt! (even though I hate her very much actually).

Uncle jack makes the assumption that she likes using the words “damn” and “hell” and she replies with “I reckon so”! Like who does that? Who says that to their own uncle? Oh that’s right, Scout! Scout is one of those people that would tell you, “you have a booger in your nose” or “no… that dress is disgusting, put it back” without even thinking if it would hurt your feelings or not because she is that savageeee…..

You do NOT want to mess with her!

No one embarrasses Scout without gett4bd712420f1701e281966ae7c80af375ing something in return. Whether it’s your nose getting punched or rubbed in the dirt, she will do it with no hesitation. Jem gets grabbed by and older man? Just kick him a little bit higher than his chin. Atticus is about to get jumped with no weapons on hand? No problem, just make sure you run up to him and say “hey” without thinking twice about what you are doing and most importantly how much danger you are putting yourself into. If no one embarrasses her than no one embarrasses you, period. She would always have your back no matter what and those are the friends you want to keep.

That’s Scout for you ladies and gentlemen.

A young girl growing up in a racist town yet

has her own opinion on discrimination.

I means, she does have one heck of a dad

raising her…

The way a parent should.

Inquiry “The Watch” Block. B

How does one come to terms with the effects of a past experience?
images

Reflecting and accepting. Everyone wants what is best for themselves. Unresolved past experiences can sometimes produce lasting psychological and physiological effects and at times, can make one go crazy. One cannot get over the past until one learns to accept it and forgiving those who may have done wrong. In a short story called “The Watch” by Elie Wiesel, it was the time of the Holocaust. A boy and his family had to bury their belongings so that one day, they could come back still have them. For the young boy, it was his watch. 20+ years have gone by, the boy loses his loved ones and all he could think about is his watch. So he goes back to that grave yard with the buried belongings, unburies the watch just to bury it again. He didn’t want to look at the watch that would remind him of his past; he wanted to move on and that’s exactly what he did. That is how he came to terms with his past experiences; “I place the watch back into its box, close the cover and my first gift once more takes refuge deep inside the hole.”

Start by thinking or actually writing down the horrible, past experiences/events that may be causing the pain. An important first step is to stop trying to pretend one was not affected by past events. Learn what trauma does to the human brain. The human brain already has enough to think and worry about; putting more stress in the head can make one do things one might regret doing later. Sadly for the boy, he had nobody but that’s not the end of it. Friends exist. People who love exist. Talk to someone like a therapist, psychologist, counselor, ect… These people are special for a reason and know that trust is still there even though it might not seem like it is. The boy’s number one goal at the time was to find that watch because he believed that it would stop his suffering. Getting distracted from or putting aside the thoughts help weaken the bond between the brain and the past experiences.

My picture shows a person driving away but is looking at in side view mirror. If one were to stare in the side view mirror for a long period of time, it could eventually cause an accident and life long problems. That being said, the person should keep looking forward and not spend the energy and time looking back. One should never stumble over something behind them.

Inquiry “Harrison Bergeron”

How does one learn to accept others?qweqwe

Will the H-G ever learn to accept the fact that everyone is different and nobody can change that, not even with the help of the most advanced technology? The only way you learn something is by practising. Before creating the 211th, 212th and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, before society made any final decisions about equality, they should have answered the question “Is it possible for everyone to be equal”. Now, the book does not tell us who made the final decision. Maybe it was the people and the government had to go with what the people wanted or the government saw that people were not happy and wanted to make a change. That is for the reader to figure out. “The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal…they were equal in every which way” (58) Finally, some people were happy, they got exactly what they always wanted, but not everyone. Finally everyone accepts each other, or so it appears. The government in Harrison Bergeron does not accept some people, like Harrison because they don’t want others to change what they already have. The H-G kills those who want that change. Learning to accept others is a hard thing to do especially if the H-G is one that hates changing their opinions for others, maybe even impossible. A way one learns is by practising; with practice comes perfect. Realizing is the key word here. Once one realizes that everyone is different, they can got on from there. One needs to put into consideration that killing should never be the answer. If not everybody agrees with the way they are living, the H-G has to recognize that there must be something wrong with how the system is running. Look for the positive in people.  Not accepting others can be a result of seeing the negative in them.

I have included the picture shows a man saying “It’s okay if you have Bieber, fever Timmy”. The picture shows that the man accepts the fact that Timmy has Bieber fever. All the daughters in my past generations are lawyers. That being said, my parents expect me to be a lawyer as well. But I don’t want to be. I want to be something different. I told my parents that, they didn’t agree with it at first but they slowly learned to accept the fact that I would like to be something different. They realized that if one doesn’t want to be something, they are not going to become it.

Descriptive Essay: Food and You

First time my brother’s girlfriend’s family and my family met was at Miku so you could say that it is a pretty special place to my brother. Right when you walk through the doors, you definitely notice the open kitchen, every time. Open kitchens are always enjoyable because you can see the chefs that are highly skilled do their “magic”. I say “magic” because their food taste as if it was made by a wizard. The servers and chefs all smile and welcome you warmly; they do not make me feel like you are walking into some kind of trap that you cannot get out of. Most Sushi restaurants are known for their greasy, old fish smell as well as their paper napkins that you only use once, then throw out but not this one. The smell is unique. I say unique because it does not smell like my house but it does not smell like the ocean either. A person like myself is fussy about smells. If food looks appealing but does not smell right, I will not eat it; I feel bad for my mother sometimes. As for the napkins, they are as soft as a baby’s blanket that had just come out of the dryer; one hundred percent cotton. As the server escorts you to your table, you notice how immaculate the place is. Not a dirty spot on a table in sight. The walls are painted white with flowerily-like drawings painted on them. Really brings you back to those times when you only knew how to draw flowers and that was all. When I sat down, my father brought up the fact that there was enough space to move your chair back; it was not crowded what so ever. As I order, I notice how astonishing the view of the water was, especially at sun set. When you look down at the water, I swear you can see dolphins and mermaids swimming around! So much food to choose from, I finally ordered. The Sunrise Roll, King Roll and the Garden Roll were delicious choices. I was never into Sushi really. Never ate it and hesitant to try it again but I chose to make my brother happy. The fresh out of the ocean and phenomenal tuna, prawn and crab hit your taste buds all at once. With a pea size amount of wasabi and a bit of ginger is how I like it from now on. If your family is into going to high-priced restaurants from time to time, I would recommend Miku (“Try the King roll”).
