Digital Footprint

1)How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

A)It depends if your digital footprint shows that you are passionate about the job and if you are the right person to hire. For example, you work at Chick-Fil-A and you go to Popeyes to see your friend (who works there) and you suggest that Popeyes should have the chicken sandwich and you tell your friend about the chick-fil-a chicken sandwich recipe, (after a week) you see a Popeyes advertisement banner about a chicken sandwich and your friend texts you that the chicken sandwich idea was a good and that there are tons of people going to try the chicken sandwich. when you go to Chick-fil-a your boss fires you because he saw the text by your friend. Another example is if a youtuber is a Adidas brand ambassador and you buy a Nike shoe and posts it online, clearly Adidas will stop that youtuber from being a Adidas ambassator because the youtuber is praising Adidas’s competitor, Nike.

2)Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

A)I think that it is important to keep your location off for the apps that do not need your location or else the app can track your digital footprint. Another strategy I might find useful is to also find out if you are using a safe and reliable source that does not use cookies or your location. Another tip I would use is to actually look at the terms and conditions, the terms and conditions are really important because it talks about how much of your information the app uses.

3)What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

A) I would tell them to turn off their locations for unnecessary apps and I would also tell them about being careful about not using websites with cookies. Also I would like to tell them about not revealing too much personal information on social media etc.
