This week I learned about and how to factor perfect square trinomials.
Rules:
- When factored: the binomials will be identical
- To expand and identify: the first and last term will be a square number, the middle term will be the sum of the square root of the last term multiplied by the square root of the middle term
- Pro tip: when identifying/factoring perfect square trinomials, use CDPEU and when you think you’re finished, check again to make sure there are no difference of squares hiding.
