Why invest in a digital portfolio?
Wiedmer (1998) claims that digital portfolios are powerful because they allow the student active participation in designing and documenting learning. The fact that the portfolio is digital allows for more audio/visual possibilities of demonstration of learning. Those who compile their own digital portfolios cite growth in self-confidence, increased connections with colleagues, and an improved sense of empowerment.
