the gossiping clams oral storytelling

This is my oral storytelling project where I retell an ingenious story. my story is a Suquamish Legend.

My legend is about gossiping clams who are disturbing the peace with the animal because they won’t stop gossiping about the animals. So raven has an idea to have a council meeting with all the animals to figure out what to do about these clams. Beaver had the idea to grab the clams a burry them into the sand so when the clams try to gossip they would just being spitting up water and sand. And in clams are still here to this day trying to gossip, I guess they never learned their lesson.

I believe oral storying in important to keep families and communities together by sharing story and expressing your self. Without oral storytelling people wouldn’t hear the passion in the story and would miss out on the connection with people because telling story start friendship. Also without oral storytelling people who can’t read wouldn’t be able to enjoy storying. Over all without oral story tell I think people wouldn’t be about to bound and it wound be really hard to connect with people so that’s why I’m glad we have oral storytelling.

EFP placePolice investigating alleged racial assault at Cultus Lake | News

This is a picture of Cultus lake. Cultus lake is my favorite I go to with my dad. I have been going to this lake probably before I could walk. We go so much that the drive feels shorter and shorter each time. Me and my dad love going so much we would sometime go in November and swim in the freezing water. When we went in November somebody brought one of those plastic little kid slides and I would slide on it from off the dock into the water. I enjoy it the most when we go with family friend of are and they have a daughter named Maddy she is one of my best friend. I would say we would go to Cultus lake about every week in the summer. I love to jump off the dock into the refreshing water and we would swim far out with a floaty and wait for jet skis and boats to come rushing by and make waves in front of us. When we go, we stay from morning to evening and eat the best food like burgers, hot dog and chips. When were not in the water were playing football with are dads but when they get tired we would play Frisbee. I love Cultus lake so much because I wear goggles and look under the water to see tiny fish swimming around me, when I can’t see the fish I swim to the bottom and find unique rock and take some home and put them in the front yard. When we get tried we make a fort to take a break from the hot heat and eat fresh fruit to cool us down. After a long day at the lake my dad and me take the long way home so we can get the best beef jerky in the world and eat it on the way home. It so good we bring some back for my aunt and uncle and other people who ask. I would say another reason I love to go to Cultus lake because in the summer the indigenous have canoe race where they have food trucks to. Over all Cultus lake is an amazing lake with an incredible view and with activities nearby like the water park and adventure park.  I will go to Cultus lake for year and year to come and hopefully be able to bring some more of my friends there in the future.

I would say I feel connected to Cultus lake because I’ve gone there my whole life and have amazing memories there. Another reason is because I love the water I learn how to swim at a very young age, so I got to enjoy swimming in rivers, lakes and the oceans
