Digital Footprint

How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

  • My digital footprint might affect my future when I go to get a job and the job employer searches up my name, and sees everything I have posted online since whatever you post online stays permunknown-1anent, so that could ruin the chances of me getting a job.
  •   It could affect my family, if they were to look up my name and find some inappropriate pictures, comments, tags. They will be very disappointed in me and I would get into trouble.
  • It could affect how my friends see me, they could like me in person then go to search up my name and see inappropriate things, or if they see you lost a friend in your past and you shared all these rude things about them, they may not want to be your friend still.

Describe 3 strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe?

  • THINK before you post (T)is it true (H) is it helpful (I) is it inspiring (N) is it necessary (K) is it kindimages
  • Always keep your personal information private.
  • Never share your password with anyone.
  • Always ask your parents before giving out your phone number online.
  • Be respectful of other people’s posts online and keep your thoughts to yourself

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? how would you go about telling them?

I learnt that everything you post online stays there forever like all the pictures you post all the comments you share, I also learnunknownt that it can really affect you when you go to apply for a job or university when they look your name up and bad things come up they may re consider accepting you . I would approach my friends when they have posted / commented something inappropriate and just talk to them privately and say is that something your proud of and would you show your grandma it? And just remind them about the things I just said like getting into good school, getting a good job etc.
