Dave Conroy- Characterization Paragraph

Stuck out in the wilderness, Dave Conroy journeyed through Hoodoo creek but his decisions affected him greatly. As he traveled through the creek he made some assertive decisions which caused him grave consequences. During the story Dave Conroy knew “as he stood on the summit that he should have made camp two miles back in the timber and crossed the divide in the morning. (p.91)” Dave knew he should’ve taken the time to make a camp and rest, but he decided to continue on. Dave even realized “he had been a fool. (p.95)” referring to all the decisions he had made in the pass knowing it would affect his future. This quotation proves even Dave himself was aware about his bad decisions. In the end Dave’s decisions got the best of him and he ended up dead, if only he made better decisions he could have continued his journey.
