3D Printing Final Project- Physics 11

Question;

An elevator with a mass of 6.00x 103 kg is accelerating in a downward motion at a rate of 1.80m/s. Calculate the tension in the cable holding the elevator.

Solution;

For my project I concluded that I wanted to do an elevator question right off the bat, I was a little lost on what I wanted to do for my visual aspect, but I knew what type of question I was leaning towards doing. I decided to do a question where you were to find the tension in the rope of the elevator string when it is accelerating downwards. I liked the aspect of needing to do multiple steps and different equations to find the final answer so that’s why I decided to use a more complex like equation. For my visual aspect of my elevator, I decided to do a mini elevator and tie it to two different hooks to have it float in the middle. And with my string I was able to make it so I could move the elevator itself as well. The visual aspect of the project took a little more time and effort then I expected it too with a few bumps in the road but I am very glad with the final product and the overall look of it.
