How can conflict change the way we live?

Conflict is ordinary part of life that is tough and challenging. Every human being faces at least one conflict in their life. Many people tries to avoid conflicts, others tends to blame someone else for the happening. Conflict can arise anywhere. It can occur between friends, family, employees, and everywhere where people live together in a community. Some problems such as misunderstandings, lack of communication, and stress may eventually result in conflict. In the book ‘The watch” by Elie Wiesel, the protagonist of the story shows he has faces a person Vs Self conflict. The problem in the book arises when he “could not keep his gift” (1). The protagonist was forced to bury his watch “in a dark, deep hole” (1). This story took place in the world war two where Hungarian nation (Germany) forced the Jewish people out of the town. Unfortunately, the protagonist was a Jew. Before they evacuated, he and his family buried all their precious objects. Later in the story, twenty years past and the war was over. He comes back to the town to get his watch back. He digs to find his watch, although he finds the watch his attitude toward the watch changes. In the beginning, he would do anything to get his watch back, but now he is struggling with his inner self to choose either he should take the watch or leave it behind. Eventually Toward the end, he “places the watch back into its box” (5) and moves on from his past and memory. Conflict is common among people it can happen between others or yourself; However, if it’s not resolved if may create destruction.
