Find The Missing Angle

What are the measures of the angles located at angles a,b,c,d,e,f. Justify your answers.

Answer: (* means degree)

  1. Angle a and the 70* angle are opposite angles so they are equal………………………………… a=70*
  2. Angle b and the 135* angle are supplementary angles so they add up to 180*………………135*+b=180*
    1.                                                                                                                                                       b=180*-135*
    2.                                                                                                                                                       b=45*
  3. We now know two angles in a triangle…………………………………………….. c+70*+45*=180*
  4. These two angles along with angle c add up to 180………………………………..c=180*-115*= 65*
  5. Angles d and b are alternate angles, and since they are equal……………….. d=45*
  6. Angles e and the 70* angle are corresponding angles and, since the                                                                                  two lines are parallel, they are parallel………………………………………………………….. e=70*
  7. Angle f and e are supplementary. They add up to 180*…………………………………….. 70+f=180*                                                                                                                                                                                        f=180*-70*                                                                                                                                                                                      f=110*
