Wish you were here Comprehension questions  

1) The point of view is mainly seen from Dorothy’s prespective but changes when the gnome sends her letters from around the world.  

2) When the mailman sends Dorothy mail saying “these are for you”. They were letters from the gnome, or so she thought.  

3) The author emphasizes Normans good qualities because he is trying to send a message to the reader. The message is that you cant always see just one side of somebody. Norman sends Dorothy cookies, he puts the gnome the right way he it gets tipped or knocked over by the neighbours. He offers to read the letters to Dorothy.  

4) I think that the intent is to be an innocint joke, like a prank. He wasn’t trying to have her killed in my opinion but he isnt sad and he doesn’t mourne her death. 

5) The fact that an elderly woman dies because of a gnome, she cares so much about something that isn’t even real, she gets paranoid when it goes missing,  

6)  I think this book would make a good movie because you can see how paranoid she gets when the gnome goes missing. You would also see how she is affected by a clay sculpture.  

7) Last year, I had faith in my friend not to tell anyone a confidential secret I told him, the next day, he told somebody and within a week all schools in sd43 knew my secret.
