Song Analysis-Imagine, John Lennon

Imagine-John Lennon

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today… Aha-ah…

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace… You…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world… You…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

2: What will happen between Ty and Alyse?
3: Will Ty’s relationship with Alyse interfere with his life and change him? If so how?

Passage picker, section 3, pages 68-101
Pg. 71 “I used to believe in trying everything once”
Ty used to think the it’d be alright if he only tried everything once, this citation leads up to another quote and it tells you that the author will give a more in depth explanation about why he thinks this.
Pg. 78 “ And I learned that the idea of trying everything once is bullshit”
The second part of the two pack quote, explains that once he tried mushrooms he realized his theory was bull. And that some things should never be tried.
Pg. 88 “The idea is that if you don’t fear death—and in fact, expect and welcome it—you will be a better soldier. A killing machine. “
Talking about the Bushido ancient code if the samurai, and how they obeyed their masters/commanders even if it results in their death. Ty thinks this is stupid, be sure the samurai should’ve stood up for themselves.

To start off Jones and Menendez don’t trust Ty and Sonny when they say they won’t snitch, so they threaten them with pictures of Ty’s mom, and Sonny’s wife, Sheniqua. Later on Ty comes out of a food place to get involved in a drive by shooting, luckily surviving his bullet wounds he finds himself in he hospital, where the police, Mr Guzman, his mom, and Alyse visit him. He can’t bare to hold the secret back so he tells Alyse about his other life, she gets angry and dumps him. He now has to deal with Darkman.

Contradicting the last quote, Sonny is saying that Ty just doesn’t have the guts to get Darkman killed, even if it’s not first hand murder, and that Ty always tries to weasel out of these types of situations

Get to know me

Hi, I’m Ryan, something important about me is that I love sports. I love the adrenaline, the sweat and the heat. Ever since I was a child I loved to play soccer, for me it was like the a wolf howling at a glowing moon. I’d played for the silver team as a goaltender and I was great at it. After playing for about 8 years I began to get tired of the sport, so at the age of 14 I decided I would take on a new sport, a new hobby; lacrosse. Problem was that there were no beginner teams for lacrosse u15, so I decided it would be in my best interest to try u14. Normally a fourteen year old would be able to play for a thirteen year old team, but because of my size weight, and since it was my first year, the association let it slide. It’s been nice so far, I scored my first goal, and got a bunch of assists, I was liking it much better then soccer. In a lacrosse game you can smell the stench of sweat in the bench, and see all the sweat on their faces. The mouth guard makes you gag at first but then you get used to its plain taste. You can hear the swearing in the arena and the coaches getting angry. The feeling when the ball hits he head of your stick, and gets released into the net. Or the feeling when you get hit and full of even more adrenaline. Soccer just didn’t give me this kind of amazing adrenaline, it was just unbearably slow-going. My little 8 year old brother I also joining lacrosse next year, he isn’t quitting soccer but I cannot wait until he gets into his first pumped up lacrosse game and experiences it first-hand.

Mutation Story

MUTATION STORY
Hello, my name is Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome, or Progeria for short. I’m an extremely rare genetic disorder that speeds up aging at an early age. As babies, children infected with myself usually look normal, but within a year, they start aging really quickly. They have normal intelligence but the symptoms include: baldness, aged-looking skin, a pinched nose, and a small face and jaw compared to head size. As well as this children infected with me experience various symptoms that normally are only acquired by older people: stiffness of joints, hip dislocations and severe, progressive cardiovascular disease. But they don’t experience symptoms such as cataracts and osteoarthritis. How am I made? The LMNA gene codes for two proteins, lamin A and lamin C. The mutation makes a unnatural version of Lamin A. The protein can be harmful to tissues that go through a lot of force, such as the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems.
Here’s my story, all was going well when all of a sudden my LMNA gene code produced an odd looking protein, this messed with the whole cycle, destabilizing the cell membrane thus making it vulnerable.

Thomas Harry was born April 11th 2016 at 9:26pm, for the first year it was fine and the genetic disorder had been forgotten about, but then it started happening. Thomas was getting older, went bald, had to quit sports because of the stiffness in his joints. He was getting bullied at school for looking old, and his small face and jaw in comparison to his grotesque head. He was 13 years old and his life was cutting short, this is all my fault! I could’ve fought the disorder-but NO!I let it happen… he had to die so young my God. At 14 he passed, we all knew this journey wouldn’t last long, he passed away December 2nd 2030. The ironic part about it was that he got hit by a DUI rather then the inevitable heart attack.

QUESTIONS
1:I researched how it is mutated, what symptoms it produced, and the full name
2:I used word, no new tools were used
3:I asked questions, acquired answers, analysed answers, applied answers, and assessed the answers
4:I verified my information by searching on several cites before jotting it down
5:A very big improvement is needed and that’s to not procrastinate my projects!

Science App Review

Question 1:

The Periodic Table app shows you information based on your level of knowledge of the elements, if you are beginner (you say if you are) you get little important facts, minus a lot of things you may or may not understand. If you were to choose expert, it would give you everything it knows and nothing less. There are a lot of different settings options aswell if you want something in particular or to compare and element to another. It also shows you what the elements would look like in first person.

Question 2:

It’seems moderately simple to get the hang of, but if you can’t understand it there is a tutorial, or you can go directly to the app store, search it up, and watch the video. personally, it took me two and a half minutes to understand, and to fully understand about 4 minutes of clicking around. It is surely one of her better Periodic Table apps out there considering it’s knowledge and the fact that it’s easy to understand.

Question 3:

The app takes the normal, dullness of a periodic table, and adds comparison,  difficulty, and lots more helpful bells and whistles. It has a touch of 2015 with images and when the elements were discovered by using a scale, etc.

Questions
1: does it help users learn about the elements? Yes
2: does it teach the user in a boring way? No
3: does it have all the information you need? Yes
4: does it give you information based on your skill level? Yes
5:would you recommend this app to anybody else? Yes
6: how many subjects does it teach you about in science? 1: The elements

Digital Footprint

Question 1: how might my digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

My digital footprint has a big impact on my future career/opportunities. What I post now can change what my employers or other important people in my life think about me, if I post the wrong thing today, I could get rejected from a good career in the future.

Question 2: three strategies that can keep my Digital Footprint appropriate and safe.

Always double check what your posting whether it be photos on Instagram or Twitter posts, anything you say or do can and will affect your future. Keep a cool head, if I get hot-headed you might post something I will regret in the future out of pure anger. Lost of people will try to annoy me and get on my nerves to set me off, and I need to act proactive rather than reactive about it. Use spellcheck, grammar issues can tell you a lot about somebody, and of your employer sees that you can’t spell friend F.R.E.I.N.D I don’t think that they will be too impressed, This is just a tiny tip.

Question 3: what information did you learn that you would pass on to other students?

Keep your Digital Footprint safe and appropriate to insure yourself a future with no Internet related problems; immaturity, inappropriate,  safety. Double check what you post, and always be safe.
