Rapid Nation

What are you excited about for this upcoming year at Riverside?

To start, my favorite subjects in school are Science and Math. I enjoy Science because it provides you a more in-depth answer about how things come together. Math is a subject I also enjoy because it usually challenges me to think. I am hugely excited to begin these subjects this year because they greatly influence our lives in the near future. For me, one of the most compelling reasons to go back to school is meeting new people. Especially the first few weeks you hear new stories and make new friends, maybe even friends for life. I’m really excited about that. School is not just about learning; it’s also a place where there’s always something fun to do and someone to hang out with. Just as important as studying for school is studying for life. After all, friendships have to be cultivated, adventures need to be experienced, and new places must be explored. Lastly, I’m really excited to meet new teachers and get comfortable in my courses because I am always learning something new. Everyone, including the staff, are really understanding. They’re also really accommodating when you need it, them making us feel welcomed. I’m really excited to start my first month because there is so much to do/get involved in.

What are some things you want to get involved with?

First off there is so much to do at Riverside in general, but I’m hoping to get involved even if my studies are high. Getting involved in school can lead you to so many opportunities or any other type of position. You can develop better communication, teamwork, organizational, management, or other skills. Build on these and put them to use in your everyday life. Getting involved is also a great way to take a break from all of the school work. Everyone should have something fun to balance out all the work. I am attempting to get involved with intramurals during the lunch hour as I don’t have time after school to join any sports. I also want to join clubs/groups that are centering around the school, such as leadership and the green shirts program if I’m able to participate in it.

How will you become a part of the Rapid Nation?

As I said earlier, I will attempt to join any intramurals or clubs/groups during the lunch hour as I don’t have anytime whatsoever after school. I will also participate in school events or special days to show my rapid spirit and I will try and help my fellow peers and give them any advice to be successful in the months to come.
