A political spectrum is a chart representing where a political party stands. From the progressive left-wing to the conservative right-wing. The left wing of politics represents Socialist and Communist views. The right side is more Conservative and fascist views. Around the middle, you may find liberal views. An authoritarian government is where one ruler, dictatorship, or government, runs a country or nation with all most or complete power. A libertarian government gives the people of a nation or country more freedom and rights in its society. The government of Ingsoc lies around the right-wing of the political scale. Ingsoc is ruled by Big Brother who has complete power over the country, where everyone is equal, and if there are imperfections in society the gove.

Blinded as we walk down the street..
Too blinded to see the people we used to greet…

Technology has blinded the youth of today…
People like you and I will see the world different from the generations of yesterday…
As technology grows, we grow along side it.
We strip away little things we see and then we hide it.
We hide it in a jar inside us
That shapes us to become the people the world sees us.
Because what we see, becomes what we are.
Bill Gates once said, “We’re changing the world with technology.”
But is this really a fitting ideology?
See from my point of view it’s the opposite
technology is the one shaping the world.
And we are the ones playing catch up
While we thought we were at the summit.
We were slowly beginning to plummet.
Because Tied to our devices,
our mental health is sometimes at stake
we compare our happiness to others
Even if both peoples smiles are fake
Those who know less often smile more
Because those are the people whos minds don’t venture far from the shore.
Into an ocean of toxicity, information, and confusion
These people keep a clear mind free of delusion.
Unlike the screens blinding our youth
That are feeding them with lies while oppressing the truth
we often scroll through useless videos on our FEED
But we don’t FEED ourselves the information we NEED
Sometimes we don’t even FEED ourselves at all
as we lose track of time scrolling and scrolling, FEEDING our minds.
Now don’t get me wrong it’s a great source of entertainment,
but often we find ourselves standing on the same side of the pavement.
By this I mean we didn’t progress,
we stayed in the same place we started from.
Physically the same and mentally drained
by seeing useless things on a screen all day.
It’s a habit that’s almost second nature
A habit that’s changing our behaviour
A habit easy to start but hard to break
Sometimes a Habit that will eventually break you
A habit you blow off until you notice that its true
So take a step back and disconnect yourselves.
Notice things you haven’t BEFORE
BEFORE its too late to notice them at all
BEFORE picking up a distraction, that wont catch you when you fall
Put yourself BEFORE your wants and not after your needs
because once you do
you’ll begin to see
The person you thought you were yesterday was never truly free.

on Tik–Tok trend causing damage at schools nationwide
Trend influencing students to steal and vandalize, leaving school bathrooms damaged and out of commission.

Students across the globe participate in acts of stealing and vandalism in a recent growing trend on Tik-Tok.
A new Tik-Tok trend has recently surfaced on the internet, and it is encouraging students to steal school property for “clout” or internet fame. The trend is called “Devious Licks,” and it is leaving schools, in some cases, thousands of dollars in damage.
What started off with soap dispensers quickly escalated to whole toilets, sinks, and pipes being ripped out of walls. It is being considered as a way for users to get a “quick 15 minutes of fame,” said Ms. McKay, the Vice Principal at Riverside Secondary.
Ms. McKay and many other school workers are informed by the district of these trends and express that it is unfortunate that this kind of behavior is receiving the attention that it is.
Some schools are taking matters into their own hands. The family of the individual or individuals involved would have to pay the school back whatever damage was caused.
The damage is causing schools to completely shut down washrooms and changing rooms, which leaves students frustrated and without a place to go. Talks about cameras in the washrooms have been talked about among some school and district staff.
The trend got so out of hand that it spread into other buildings and establishments. This created even more havoc as it gave some thieves the confidence to start robbing car parts, stores, and even live marine animals from stores.
Videos were posted to the song ski ski basegod by lil b, a song that gives off an energized electronic beat.
TikTok has swiftly disabled any new posts that associate with this trend by changing their community guidelines. Searching the term “devious licks,” on the app will result in a screen showing nothing.
Indigenous Podcast – “Martens Memories”
on For this project, Ashton and I turned a story about Ed Marten and his time at residential school into a storytelling form Podcast. We had no problem taking notes and projecting our thoughts to each other, and writing them down. However, when we read out what we said, a lot of the punctuation was forgotten which didn’t make our voices sound fluent at times. In the end, we completed all the digital things with no problem like sounds, cover art, sourcing, etc.
