Sine Cosine Tangent
Sine, Cosine and Tangent are each a ratio of sides of a right angled triangle:

Sine Law
you use sine law when you know 2 sides of an angle and you want to find the measure of opposite a known side. Or when you know 2 angles and 1 side and want to get the side opposite a known angle. But in both cases, you must know a side and an angle that are opposite of each other.

cosine law
The law of cosines for calculating one side of a triangle when the angle opposite and the other two sides are known. Can be used in conjunction with the law of sins to find all sides and angles.
