A Place at the Table Video Response (APATTresponse)

1. What are two examples of food insecurity identified in this movie? What were some of the ways in which the individuals involved coped with their predicament? Were they successful? Why or why not?
Geographic information related to hunger (vegetables not growing) and information about health. They work out, but I don’t think it is successful. For the geographic the truck could only carry limited food to people and they need to pick the food will last long which cause not enough nutrients. The truck to deliver food are also limited, so there won’t be enough food to everyone. For the poor people they eat more junk food because it is cheaper. Eat too much junk food have cause many diseases to children and adult.

2. What specific demographics in our country might be more at risk of experiencing food insecurity? Why are they more at risk? Is there anything historical that might have caused this increased risk?
Homeless people and people don’t have job are more at risk than other people because they don’t have money to buy proper food and they don’t have a clean environment to live. The food insecurity in present days are cause by Trump for sure, but there is still historical cause. Some work place would not hire colored people, or they will only hire people that is their color, so this difficult for some people to find job. At some place women are less educate, so they can’t find job or to protect themselves. The women are getting to much child and they do not have enough money to feed them.

3. What is your personal reaction to this movie? Did you have any preexisting ideas about food insecurity? Were you surprised by some of the information that was presented? Why or why not?
I feel like these people are just not smart enough. However, my mom and I was very poor did not have house when we first came to Canada, but now my mom owns two houses and she have her own business. My mom did not go to school during her child hood, she only has the basic level of education. I think if these people use their brain hard enough they should at least have enough food to eat.

4. If you were in a position to directly or indirectly influence the issue at hand (such as a politician or policy maker) what would you do to help? What policies do you think could aid those that are hungry? OR What is a way that you could make a difference today? How would you go about making that difference and change?
I would give those people that are starving a piece land, so they can plant some vegetables to eat. Other than that ill will ask the scientist to invent a plant that is eatable and can live in any environment.
