Question 1: How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
My digital footprint can affect me in many ways, like the examples given to us. Some of them can be good but most can be bad. I could use it as an alibi or it could be used against me in a situation like that. It can also be data mined for all my information and sold to add companies about what my interests are.
Question 2: Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
One option is keeping all software up to date; like VPNS and other stuff. Make sure that on social media what you put out there is always going to be out there.Make your accounts private, and even be careful what you say through sms texting and other media’s because you can’t take it back. Other things to do is just try to have a positive influence online a.k.a social media, and even do things positive that would be heard online, so if one was to look up your name, it would come up.
Question 3: What information did you learn that you pass onto other students? How would you go about telling them?
The school can see everything you do on the school internet! Im not sure how to tell someone this but i think that some students that know that could really benefit that because they would have to be more careful what they say and do. I would also say that if you’re not comfertable having your location tracked, you should probably turn your location turned off; because that really freaked me out.
