This week I learned about how to find the common difference for a Arithmetic Sequence. The definition of a sequence is an ordered list of numbers. whatever is the first number in a sequence is recorded as ($t_{1}$ or a) then each term goes up or down by the same amount each time. For instance, 8,12,16, 20,… is an arithmetic sequence, because each step adds four, and 12, 6, 0, ,-6,… is a arithmetic sequence, because each step subtracts 6. The amount the term goes up or down by is the constant or common difference (d)

d = $t_{n}$ – $t_{n-1}$
