This week in exponents I learned a more simple technique for converting between a fraction exponent and a radical. Ms. Pahlevanlu calls this technique “flower power” and it is an easier way to recognize/remember which numbers go where. Why it is flower power is because you remember that the root of the flower goes at the bottom so the denominator of the fraction would become the root of the radical, while at the same time the numerator is the head and would become the exponent for the radicand.
