“When you play the game of thrones, you win, or you die. There is no middle ground.” Cersei Lannister. The main reason I chose this article to write my first blog log about is its subject field. I have been involved with this fantasy series (A song of Ica and Fire) for more than two years; moreover, besides watching the show, I have read the entire books. Our world today is running by the politicians, tyrants, and the ones who care only about power; as the result, learning the language of politics is mandatory for understanding the variety aspects of the different situations. The author indirectly depicts that Elizabeth Warren has used Game of Thrones as a tool to portrays the parallels between the fiction characters and our modern world politicians, “…inequality, political favoritism of the elite, and the dire impact of different leadership styles on the lives of the people.”. I like the way the author reveals Warren’s will, he conveys that she has used the great feminism wave as a lens to illustrates the common problems that Americans and Westerosi are struggling with, “…politicians who serve the people rather than the wealthy, elite, and themselves.”. In my idea, the author proves that he has a good level of knowledge about the story because he knows that “Khaleesi” is not a name, in fact it’s a title (Khaleesi is a title given to the wife of a Dothraki warlord). Also the way that he has used the Warren’s speech to relate Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister to the upcoming election of America is interesting for me; he illustrates that Warren has contrasted these dissimilarities, and she has used the bandwagon strategy to influence on people’s emotions in order to garner their votes for herself to become a possible candidate of the Democrat party.
