The following article explains the story of how a Muslim women was harassed by an individual who refereed to themselves as a “Nazi” telling the women to “remove her head towel” and “go back to your own country” (unacceptable behavior.) “Calgary resident Kaniz Fatima was shocked but felt as a responsibility to stand her ground while her husband, Mohammad Alam, recorded the altercation.” The fact that the women had the strength to stand up to the man criticizing her of her beliefs showed that she believes that we should not discriminate and is not ashamed of who she is.

2. The following article published by the Vancouver Sun shows a good representation of multiculturalism in Canada. The following article explains how the Chinese New Year parade was occurring in down town Vancouver, and how it was celebrating the year of the dog. This event represents good multiculturalism as it shows that citizens can still feel free to express their beliefs even in a different setting such as in Canada.

In my opinion based on these two particular articles I would say that Canada is a multicultural country due to Canada being a whole not a single individual, one person discriminating against another is something that cant be controlled by the country, people all have the right to their own beliefs in certain situations. Having a lunar new year celebration parade occur in Vancouver, (practically the heart of Canada) is a big deal, expressing others beliefs that we may not particularly express.
