During distance learning of COVID-19, I created a Rube Goldberg machine to build a deeper understanding of Dynamics and the effect of momentum on moving objects. It took a lot of trial and error and I had to do some research on forces to help the machine work better. I also made sure to include different aspects that we learned from Dynamics, such as momentum, collision and Newton’s Laws of Motion. I included an actual Newton’s Cradle which is meant to demonstrate the Law of Conversation of Momentum. To calculate the momentum in a Newton’s Cradle, I had to find the correct formula, and I ended up finding the correct formula on the MIT website. Overall, this was a great way to deepen my understanding of Dynamics and how all forces relate to each other.
