Chemistry in my world

My curiosity question: What kind of material is best for a whisk?

what type of whisk is more useful/popular for cooking?

There are 6 types of whisk Dough, flat, ball, balloon, French, coil. Balloon and French whisks are the more basic and popular whisk, they’re good for combining almost any matter or liquid.

Which family is a whisk part of?

the stainless steel Whisk is part of the metal family because while making the whisk they dip the wires in a tin(sn) liquid pool to make a ring in the bottom of the wires which create a whisk head.

What material was the first whisk made of

The first whisk had birch twigs which were wired together in a shape of a bowl. Back than it was also known was the birch whisk.

How do they make a whisk?

Factories get 12-foot tubes and cut them in different lengths depending on the size of  the handle. They then put the bottom parts of the handle and then grabs the roll of  stainless steel and puts them in a coil which then straightens it and bends it at the same time. The workers then place them and then once finished they tin dip the bottom of the wires to make them stick together. After they made the head, they put an epoxy in the handles and then stick the heads in the tubes and then package it.

How many different types of material do whisks have?

It’s not specified in the video but it looks like they use a metal type material for the handle. They then use stainless steel wires, tin ring for the bottom and then another metal material (not specified) put in the tubes as a cap. I would say they use about 4 materials for each whis

When was the whisk invented?

In the united states of America, the whisk was made around the 1600s. But back then it was more of a wood brush. The wire whisk was invented just before 1841. Julia Child television appearance in 1963 is what caused the wire whisk to become popular.

PART 2

  1. What questions did you need to research in order to create your post?

The Questions I used to research for my topic were:

  1. What type of whisk is more useful/popular for cooking?
  2. Which family is a whisk part of?
  3. How do they make a whisk?
  4. How many different types of material do whisks have?
  5. When was the whisk invented?
  6. What material was the first whisk made of

2. What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

the digital tool I used were: YouTube to watch a video of whisk were made, CC search for some of the pictures, google/safari for research/photos

3. What was the process you used to investigate the topic?

The first step me and my partner did was create a list of we thing we liked to do on a white board then seeing if we have anything in common, the thing we had in common was we both really liked crepes. After that we thought of something you needed to make crepes so we picked a whisk. After that we came up with a curiosity and research question. We did our own separate research then came up with 6 questions. We then spilt up the question so that it was be faster, once we were done with answering them we would then read them out loud to see if we agreed with the answer or if there was something we should change. After that we started part 2 and I started to create my edublog post.

4. How did you verify and cite the information you found?

I would verify and  cite the information I found by using this website: https://www.easybib.com/guides/citation-guides/mla-format/how-to-cite-a-website-mla/ or I would use a website a teacher gave to the class.

5. How did the process of completing this go? what could you have done better?

in my option that process of completing this was good, we worked well there was some thing  we could of done better like, focusing more because often we would get distracted and loose focus so it took longer to do work and find our research questions.
