Climate change solution fluency

Define:

The climate change problem I chose to address is droughts. Many parts of the world experience droughts and water shortages. The effects of droughts occur in a number of ways. For example, economic impacts on farmers, reduced food supply and habitat damage to animals and plants, human health and safety, including anxiety about economic losses, water disputes and the increased risk of heat stroke.

Discover:

Companies do research and attempt to identify their vulnerability to drought, so they know what to do to improve their resilience to drought. Measures have been taken, such as water conservation, emergency drought plans, identifying other sources of water supply and improving water efficiency. Whereas, the government created a national drought policy to draw attention to drought preparedness in order to be able to build institutional capacity to deal with drought more effectively.

Dream:

As I did research about drought, I thought of solutions that could help to manage it.

° Harvest rainfall water

° Plant more trees

° Build an underway passage with a water

° plant more drought resistant plants

° recycle organic waste

Deliver:

Here are the solutions

Debrief:

During my research on droughts, I noticed that many measures had been taken to help manage places that suffer from droughts. Considering that we don’t discuss about droughts more often.I think I’ve explained the solutions well with the benefits that comes alongside. Some things I would’ve changed was adding more pictures, and explaining more on the define.

  1. Excellent explanation of how you used the solution fluency to address a problem important to you: droughts. Great work discovering several solutions to your issue and sharing the sources of your research. You included very effective media and a powerful infographic showing what your solution looks like. Awesome job. Where would you build an underground passage if you could? How could the knowledge you gained with this approach help you in the future?

  2. I really enjoyed the thought and solutions you put into the solutions and I especially liked the idea of building an underway passage with water. However it may be difficult to get enough pipes to bring water to every home in a shorter amount of time. Thank you for the post!

    1. Hi Ava,

Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you liked the idea of the underway passage. You have a good point, i agree that it may be difficult to collect enough pipes and an efficient amount of water to transfer to homes faster. I’m sure that there are solutions that could help with this problem. For an example, there could be sections that could have small machineries that speeds up the process of the water flow?

  3. Hi there,

I really loved how organized and detailed your blog is. The introduction was very informative and I liked how you also included the numerous effects of droughts.

I also enjoyed reading about what measures have been taken to further aid this problem. All of your ideas and solutions were really thought out and I think that all of them have great potential.

    1. Hi Jessie,

I’m glad the you found the infographic informative and detailed about the solutions and effects of droughts. Thank you for the comment! If there’re any questions you have in mind, you can ask.
