I think that the handshake should stay after the pandemic is over because it has been around for hundreds of years and it is a big part of our society and how we greet people.  Shaking hands has continued even after other major viruses that have occurred throughout the centuries.  The handshake is a way for people to get to know each other and it is a welcoming gesture.  If it stopped, I feel like people wouldn’t have an official greeting.  They would say, “hi”, but there would be no gesture to go with it.  Instead of getting rid of handshakes, I think people can still shake hands but they would have to use disinfectant, hand sanitizer, and they would have to wash their hands as soon as possible.
