The life of a Genetic Mutation [Cell Disease]

Part 1:

My name is Celli I am a gene Cell inside my host. My host name is Nick, he is a male kid who loves video games and his family. Years ago when are host was getting born this thing called Sickle Cell Disease [SCD] was spreading around us and we could not fight it. We then began to get less flexible and were sometimes getting stuck in the small blood vessels of our host. As years passed at the age of 13 Nick began getting tired most of time than usual, his hands and feet were getting painful and swelling, and his skin began turning yellow. These are the side-affects when getting SCD, I think the cause of getting this mutation is through family genes. Nick’s Parents [Sophie and Fred] never mentioned them getting SCD to Nick, maybe they wanted to keep it a secret. Nick told his parents and when they saw his skin they decided to not let him go to school, Sophie and Fred thought he was sick, so on a school day he was lying in his bed and [since Sophie is a stay home person] she brought him food and took care of him. A few days later Sophie called her doctor named ‘’Doctor Gantlet’’ and she told him about Nick’s disease and that she knew what it was all this time, she didn’t know the cure for it but when she called Doc. Gantlet he told her ‘’the cure for [SCD] is Bone Marrow Transplant [BMT]’’. That means someone that has the same Cell gene type that we all have has to donate little samples of their good Cells to replace us. When Fred got home Sophie told him about what’s happening to Nick, the reason why Sophie knew about what was happening to him is because Fred had SCD when he was young and that Nick’s Grandfather donated samples of his cells to cure him. Sophie and Fred told Nick about what has to be happened, Nick was a little scared [he would have to get a big needle shot so the Doctors can replace us]. Fred then told Nick that he went through the same thing when he was young and that he was more scared then Nick, but he was brave and wasn’t afraid to do nothing. Fred was trying to encourage Nick to do this cure and also offering to give the samples of his Cells to us, Nick then decided to do the cure. 2 days later Sophie took Nick and Fred to the Hospital, when it was Nick’s turn Nick and Fred both went into a Room and Sophie went back home. 5 hours later Sophie came back to the hospital and was waiting in the Wait-Room for 20 min, When Fred and Peter came out of the Room the Doctor said that Nick is feeling better. Everything in Nick body was becoming normal again and that the new Cells in his body were running properly and healthy. Nick thankfully hugged Fred as saying ‘’thank you’’ Fred then said ‘’I would do anything to keep you alive and healthy’’ as they were leaving.

Part 2:

  • 1.   What is the cure for [BMT]?

  • 2.     Google.

  • 3.      I needed to know [what is Sickle Cell Disease, what can it do, what are the side-affects, what is the cure   etc].

  •  5.      I found this assignment was a bit tricky process but I learned A lot about SCD.   Maybe I could have done a little bit more research on my topic.

Science App Review

What site that I am using for this Assignment is called Anatomy 4D, it is an App where you can see inside a person’s Body {but only on a piece of Paper]. For what I think of the app is pretty cool, you can see just on paper what materials are inside a person’s actual body. This App could be a useful thing for Biology.

Pros:

  • It shows you all the elements inside the body
  • Good detail
  • easy to use

Cons:

  • You need a specific paper to do this
  • You need 2 devises to use this
  • You need to hold the second devise your using to see the body

Thoughts for evaluating the App

  1. It shows you an actual representation of what your body looks like inside, so you know how it functions.
  2. This app can show you all the details of what your imaging, like if you were imaging the heart it will give a list of the categories of the heart. It really does not take a long time to figure it out, all you have to do is have a computer/tablet and a phone and use the camera of the phone to image on the computer/tablet.
  3. Like I said when you image it, it shows you a list of the elements of the body/heart.

Governing Quebec paragraph

As a British official, I realize there are many alternatives to governing Quebec. I have chosen the policy of Status Quo to ensure the colony is properly run.

Firstly: I chose this topic because I don’t want wars, deportation, and Assimilation if we do not maintain how the cultures systems work. Because If we just go with how they work, no People have to die in the wars and deportation.

Secondly: If we just keep thing the same there wouldn’t be so much work to do, for example:         if you were to change the language you would have to gather all the people in French Culture [witch may take some time] and tell them.

And thirdly: People in the French culture probably don’t want anything to change because if we do change things that don’t really settle for the French people it wouldn’t be a fun Culture to go to.

As I have outlined above, I believe the best policy for governing Quebec is Status Quo. This will ensure that the colony will remain under British control and provide wealth for our glorious country.
