Tech Team December Reflection

What are some things you have learned and/or tasks you have accomplished so far this semester?

Firstly, in the beginning of the semester I took part in the wave and learned a few things about solving computer issues; which later helped me be able to aid my teacher with OneNote, sound and projector problems during class. It helped me think faster on my feet and to problem solve which are two valuable lessons to learn. Secondly, during the passion project I learned how to communicate with my group and intertwine everyones ideas into one. It taught teamwork and organization skills.

What aspects of your work are successful?

A lot of the material I’ve covered was a success, but the aspect that worked the best was the communication and teamwork. It was impressive seeing everyone compromise on all the details and working out all the aspects of the Wall of Pride. Everyone had an input and we all tried our best to take the idea and build on it.

What aspects of your work are challenging?

The aspect I found the most challenging was choosing a project that I felt really had potential. Once I chose the Wall of Pride, it was difficult to join a group that had started last year, because there were certain things already set in play.

What steps did you take to overcome these challenges / what adjustments did you need to make?

I had to quickly learn all the ins and outs of what had already been planed and add more ideas/expand on what was already there. I tried to give suggestions and to listen to everyones ideas, so that no ones opinion was being ignored.

Is there anything you can do improve?

I believe we could, I could, have thought more of what I wanted this project to be on my own time. I tried, but I don’t believe I set aside enough time to really, deeply, think about it. If we had done this, I believe our brainstorm would have been more elaborate.

Do you have any feedback or suggestions, as we move forward, that could help the Tech Team meet the needs of our school and staff / be more effective?

I think the improvements to the library will really fix the accessibility to the Wave. I noticed the placement of the Wave at the beginning of the school year, at the back of the library, wasn’t very known, but I believe once the library is finished, it will be more popular. An idea that might help the school’s computer skills is an optional EduBlog learning opportunity during the middle of the school year, possibly at lunch, for all those students and/or teachers that are new; or simply those who believe their knowledge isn’t as great as they wish it could be.

1 Thought.
