Briefly describe your new and improved idea, by incorporating ideas and/or feedback.

For my teams project of the Social Media, our new ideas include a weekly news letter, having a “Throwback Thursday” post and including a more personal aspect of the instagram instead of just advertising. For the weekly news letter, we are trying to get the Rap notes emailed to our email, so we can make a post for every week of all the upcoming meetings or events coming up in the week so we do not spam the instagram with club advertisements everyday. We have a small group of girls working on this as their focus for the project. Also, with the gaining of followers, we want something for people to look forward to and to come back to for our page so, we want to start up a  Throwback Thursday post of old photos of our Staff and Teachers every Thursday. We have a group of around 4 people working on this, alternating weeks since it is quite difficult to get pictures from teachers because they do not have many digital pictures of themselves as kids. Plus, we would like to post more personal things such as students at work or fun field trips and events happening in class just to advertise how great Riverside is, and to constantly upload the story with reposts, and things going on in classes.

What problems might we run into?

Since this project is not as technical based and we shouldn’t run into a lot of technical issues, but more internal issues within the group. I think the biggest problem we can run into with a project where each person or group has a certain job, would be people not doing their jobs, and then others scrambling to do others jobs for them. I want to create a calendar of some sort so people know when their jobs are an who’s job it is to post when for certain things like the Throwback Thursday’s and Weekly News letters, and for the people like me who are signed a specific day. Another thing would be getting pictures from teachers and staff members for the Throwback Thursday posts since not a lot of teachers have old pictures of them on hand, it does take a lot of reminding and time to get those images from them.

What skills do we need to complete this project? How can we attain these skills?

I believe some skills we will need to complete this project would be resilience, energy, critical thinking  and patience. If something does not go the way we are expecting or something goes wrong we need to resolve it and move past it as quickly and efficiently as possible. I think my team and I can attain these skills with motivation, we all are skilled in many ways and I believe we are all motivated and want this project to happen successfully and that is what will help us attain these skills.

Right now we are really focusing on getting the Throwback Thursday posts established as a weekly activity and they are getting great exposure and are doing 95% better than most of our other posts.

Next I want to get the group focussed on the Weekly Newsletter to get in contact with Mr. Barazzoul to send us the RAP notes.
