Exponent laws summery

Multiplication law; When multiplying exponents with the same base, you can add the exponents instead of multiplying them.

Ex; 3^3\cdot 3^5=3^8

Division law; When dividing exponents with the same base, you can subtract instead of dividing them.

Ex; 5^9 - 5^4=5^5

Power law; When there is an exponent surrounded by brackets, multiply the exponent on he inside by that on the outside.

Ex; (2^4)3=2^{12}

Fraction law; When there is an exponent in the form of a fraction, the numerator remains the exponent and the denominator becomes the number of the root.

Ex; 3^{\frac{5}{2}}=\sqrt[2]{3^5}

Negative law; when an exponent is negative, move it to the opposite side of the fraction to change it to a positive.

ex; 6^{-2}=\frac{1}{6^2}
