a) What Widgets and Plugins did you choose?

I chose to embed a translator, a map, my recent posts, and a digital clock.

b) What are their strengths?

A translator can assist people who do not speak English as their first language and it can help them better understand my blog.

A map can be used to navigate areas near the school if there is a need to get somewhere.

If a teacher or another student needs to look at my recent posts, they can easily access them through the front page of my blog.

A digital clock can be a good reminder if someone happens to be scrolling through my blog and they have lost track of the time.

d) What are their weaknesses?

A translator may have trouble with certain languages and may not translate the page flawlessly.

A map may not be needed at all times when browsing through a blog.

Recent posts can still be looked at through other ways.

Consumers likely have another way of telling the time.

e) Can these programs be used in a classroom setting to enhance student learning? Would you use it and/or recommend it?

Yes, I would recommend them. A translator can help international students understand blogs and portfolios better. Quick access to recent posts can also help students draw inspiration from their peers. I may not personally use these tools in class but I still think there are many others who can benefit from them.
