Plenty Poem Questions.
- The mood through the poem is joy and gratefulness of the earth’s beauty even through the impurities.
- Generally, these traits are deemed unappealing, however, due to the context of the story they are just adding to the beauty of the world around the speaker.
- The technique adds more imagery whilst giving the reader a feeling relating to the subject being talked about, mostly joy.
- The speaker goes to the IGA and notices generally unpleasant things such as the salt stains on his shoes or the words spoken by people. I know that the person sees things differently than the rest and has a positive outlook on life, possibly an optimist.
6: I ran through the alleys
Watching people gaggle around the deli’s
Seeing a group of geese travel through the sky
A gaggle flying by and by until they will reach the horizon
The street stopped being horizontal and came to a climb
The gravity’s force setting my heart in a bind
My lungs bound in a vice.
Each breathe feeling like I’m breathing shards of ice
Shards of glass crunching under my feet.
Broken windows, broken people, broken hearts
Running to the top my vision tunnels
As though the funnel becomes smaller
I black out as my legs falter.
