The journey to discovering one’s identity

During this essay, I made sure to put in a lot of effort in order to make it my best writing. I am proud of the hard work and the thought process that went into this essay. 2 things that I would like to improve on for grade 12 is formatting my quotes in a more professional and grammatically correct manner. I would also like to pay closer attention to detail while proofreading to ensure that there are no grammar errors.

Totem – Post Writing

Canadian history as shaped First nations by making them more resilient. During the 17th century, when first nations were faced with oppression, they had no choice but to rise above. Even today, first nations are discriminated against in our society, but it has only made them stronger. When Europeans first came to Canada, they couldn’t accept the idea of First Nations in the Canadian history, and pushed the burden onto First Nations. However, no matter how hard they try to act like they’ve gone away, their traditions and cultures will always be a part of the Canadian identity.

I am proud of the amount of effort and hardworking that I put into this persuasive essay. I stayed on task during class, and I made sure to proofread my essay thoroughly. The next time I write an essay, I can make sure that I properly integrate the quotes. Furthermore, I can work on pushing myself further, and challenging my thinking.

Fear

Take a photo of where you see or have felt fear: my dance studio

While I constantly have fun at dance, I’ve always been afraid of failure, or that my friends will watch me fail, and laugh. Furthermore, I compte at competitions, and even though I’ve been doing it for half my life, it never gets easier to go on stage in front of hundreds of people with the possibility and forgetting my choreography or falling out of a lift. In acro, we do plenty of challenging lifts, which sometimes go wrong, it takes a lot of practice in order to feel confident, and there is always the possibility of something going wrong, and hurting myself. This fear affects my actions, by allowing me to hold back, and not embracing my full potential, I know that I am capable of a lot more, but I’ve always been afraid of the outcome. During this exercise, I learnt that even the strongest people are afraid of something, no matter how small the phobia is, we must learn the face our fears.
