The Caribbean tropical rainforest biome is one of the most beautiful and diverse biomes on the planet. The Caribbean, consisting of over 7,000 islands, is made up of 28 different island nations and is home to 9% of the world’s population-more than Canada and the United States combined. The Caribbean tropical rainforest is a crucial aspect of the economy and lifestyle of the more than 600 million that inhabit the area. This biome should be protected for it’s positive impact on our whole world. Tropical rainforests provide habitat to more than 50% of all living plants and animals, all of whom are losing their homes due to deforestation and human activity. Species that are found nowhere but the tropical rainforests would eventually become extinct.
