Titanium has an atomic number of 22. It was first discovered in 1791 by Revered William Gregor. It is a transitional metal in period 4. Some titanium makes propellers for boats, airplane parts, spacecraft, artificial joints, and pins for setting bones. Unfortunately, due to its high cost, titanium cannot be used for a wider variety of things. One interesting fact about titanium is that it is as strong as steel, but 45% lighter than it.
