Guiding Questions for Aboriginal Fur Trade

1. They were depicted by their minor and subordinate. They would describe the First Nations by them hopelessly relying on the technology and supplies from the Europeans.

2.It shows how dependant the First Nations are on the Europeans. They would starve if they didn’t beg for assistance.

3.They adapt to economic tridations by understanding this new economic currency. The aboriginal people didn’t respond the way the Europeans had expected, causing them to learn this new currency.

4. They had to adapt because the First Nations didn’t want the Europeans money, they wanted made beaver (MB) (which is kinda their currency) because all their prices on goods and stuff were priced as MB.

5. ???

6.They showed it through their ability to adapt to different habitat zones. They also have the ability to make new ideas, methods and technology, these abilitys can enable the First Nations to rapid adjusted their economic system.

7.Their inland trading is really creative and smart. With their ability to rapidly adjust their economic system, they can gain more MB and goods than losing their own.

8. Middlemen role used to be to push the trapping and trading area to the northwest (with the help of the Europeans). Now the Meddlemen’s role is undermined, since HBC  (Hudson Bay Company). Now they are spreading far and wide for their trading and trapping area.

9.by not using European technology. If the First Nations used fire arms (European technologies), and it breaks then there is no point for them to use them

Why did the Rebellion fail?

One of reason why the Rebellion failed is because they wern’t properly trained.  They had no drills (combat drills) what so ever. Also they were crudely armed, which means they were poorly organized. (Page 1)

The second reason is that some of the rebellion’s men were killed by their own men. One of their men was trying to tell his comrades to stop firing but “it appeared one of our people who was killed was shot in this way by our own men” (page 2). This means that the Rebellion (as I said before) was inexperienced and not well organized.

The final third reason is that they were fighting a more experienced opponent. The British were way more organized and have more troops. The only thing the rebels can do is probably just deny the endible.

Analogy post

Temperature: Kids have more energy in the sun than in the rain.  The sun makes the temperature hotter which makes kids have more energy if it was raining. Furthermore they will have more chances they will likely they will run and bump into each other creating collisions.

Concentration: In Crash crawl-les there was 21 kids playing with lots of energy. If we added 40 more kids in the mix, then in the answer their will add more energy and the more chances the kids will bumping, crashing and pushing into other kids

Surface area: There is a water gun fight in lions park (a huge water fight area). There are 50 kids and 10 adluts, once the water comes into the contact the kids, then will gain more energy to spray their friends back. The adluts are like metal, always wants the powder (kids) to have fun while the adluts just stand there let them spray them.

Catalysts: Ms. Ferreira has decided to do a group project, and she is going to pick the student partners for us. She decides to partner Mr. Chan and Ms. Shong who get along very well. Ms. Ferreira made a good choice there, because they were so energetic that they got 100% in there project.

Underground Railroad: Consequences

A North Side View of Slavery page 333 (William L Humbert)

First quote: “I would rather die than go back” (Page: 333). It means that he would kill himself then live and become the slave again.

Second quote: “I do not believe that slaveholders under the company of heaven can see God’s face; that is if I read the bible right” (page 334). This quote means that he is learning to read (thanks to the part “if I read the bible right”). It also means that slaveholders must have been rejected by God because of the part “under the company of heaven can see God’s face.”

Life in Canada must have been a saviour to slaves who escaped from their masters. The slaves are learning, which must be a dream to those who haven’t escaped from their masters. To those slaves who have their own house, having skills that other slave or people couldn’t have and learning at a place where it accepts everyone is a dream life where the chosen ones from God get to have. Having that life in Canada has made the slaves independent, of course they get a jump start (from the government) but the fact still remains the people who didn’t know how to read (or write) can become independent.

Consequences of Irish immigration

image

There are Irish people in the pot. The big guy whose holding a spoon is American, and in the past, the Americans were actually British (until they fought their independence [American Revolutionary War]). The pot says “citizenship”, the people in the pot are the lower class and the American is the upper class.

In the description of the picture, it says ” stereotypes the Irish as unmixable in America’s melting pot.” This must mean that the cartoonist is saying that the Irish people aren’t tools for money or anything really. Plus, the description of the picture says “unmixable”, which shows that the Irish people won’t tolerate how they are being treated. Further more, with the big spoon the American is holding, it means that the American is trying to control the Irish people using brute force. It could also mean that the American is claiming a Irish land, and trying to claim it by adding Americans on the land. However, that plan didn’t work out because of the “unmixable” the description said.
