Ralph – I Want It That Way – The Backstreet Boys
https://genius.com/Backstreet-boys-i-want-it-that-way-lyrics
As we know, Jack and Ralph want the island run in two different ways. Ralph, the voted leader likes to have an organized set of rules, responsibilities, and a plan to get the boys rescued off of the island. Jack, originally a pal of Ralph’s much preferred the savage and reward-chasing lifestyle where the boys hunted, killed, had feasts, and had fun. It would be safe to say that Ralph never wants to hear Jack say that he wants the rules that way, but the split showed Jack did, causing a bit of a heartache. 🙁
Jack – Island In The Sun – Weezer
https://genius.com/Weezer-island-in-the-sun-lyrics
This song is only fitting, as the boys are actually on an island, and Jack’s thoughts are definitely similar to what the song is saying. Jack wants to be ‘playing and having fun’ and also as the book progresses, Jack and the boys ‘can’t control’ their brains, giving in to the fun rather than thinking logically and wanting to be saved. Jack leads this group of boys into savagery, changing their civilized minds feeling bad for hunting into brains that would probably never feel bad about savage actions ever again.
Piggy – Could You Be Loved – Bob Marley & The Wailers

This song fits Piggy extremely well, even the title of the song is a question we would ask Piggy. Piggy doesn’t get fooled, or schooled by the other boys on the island as he is easily the smartest one there. It’s also interesting how the song mentions that the people who try to change you, like Jack and his group, are also the ones who believe in survival of the fittest. Piggy isn’t fit, and Jack and his group don’t like Piggy. Even Ralph has trouble standing Piggy at the beginning of the book, which really does ask the question: could Piggy be loved?
