Victorian Era vs Today Theme: Continuity and Change

Continuity #1 – (Those who had money had a good life, education, and social standing) This is a continuity because for good education and a good life you needed to be rich or in a rich family. The people with money were the white males and their families and the black people had a hard life and little to no education. Wealth in the time period determined you life, education, and social standings.

Change #2 – (Leisure travel became popular; idea of taking a “vacation” came about during this time; popular destination included America and Europe) Vacations were new to the citizens and people didn’t really go travel, vacations were used when you’ve done a good job at work or worked hard. Im guessing only the people that are rich would go on vacations because it probably cost a lot of money to travel.
