Canadian Identity

I picked these two sources because: most Canadians can relate to the first source, the morals and values are the same for most Canadians, and both sources can make us happy and proud to be Canadian, in some way. For me, I think these two sources represent Canada, and what it is to be Canadian: we can laugh at our habits and choices of vocabulary, accept and help others, and have a good taste in Maple Syrup and Poutine. If someone from the 19th and 20th century were to look at these two sources, their perspectives would be different. For example, in the late 1800s and early 1950s, diversity and foreign immigration were not generously welcomed. Someone from the those centuries would have different morals and values than people from today; because, maybe, they didn’t grow up with todays new morals and values in mind.
