Hi everyone! My name is Madison, and welcome to my EduBlog.

Salut tout le monde ! Je m’appelle Madison, et bienvenue à mon EduBlogue.

You are currently on my EduBlog, and this the platform that is referred to as my “digital portfolio”. Throughout my years at Riverside Secondary School, this is where I am able to publish projects that I am most proud of, along with my core competency reflections. This is a wonderful way to demonstrate my progress as a student over the course of 4 years, as well as demonstrate what I would like to do in my future.

I am a French Immersion student here at Riverside Secondary, and I currently have plans to graduate with my double dogwood and even further my French studies as I enter university. The language and community have impacted me greatly and have become a large part of my identity. The language and program have presented me with many challenges over the years, and I believe that has only made me a stronger and more determined student. I started the program at a young age, but it’s only been in the past few years that I have grown more appreciative of what the langue and community has taught me. I have dreams of travelling to France, Belgium, and even French-Suisse regions to study abroad for a year or two.

School is not necessarily my entire life. Don’t get me wrong, but I have made commitments outside of school. For the past 11 years, I have been a part of the Girl Guides of Canada (GGC). It has taught me leadership skills, as well as how much I enjoy volunteering and helping out others in my community. It has lead me to become a volunteer for the City of Port Coquitlam and has offered me some of the best experiences. Here is where I have found my love for helping developing minds and watching the next generation of intelligent and caring kids, grow into some amazing people.

I am a metro (“high performance”) soccer player, but that was not always the case. I have been playing the sport for the past 9 years and I did not have the natural talent right out the gate. It took many years, many teams and a lot of commitment and determination to get to where I am today. I now play with some of the best coaches and amazing teammates, and I couldn’t be any more grateful.
