This article was about a work related gender inequality. It was talking about the different jobs people think of as “a woman’s issue”. It involves many examples of the jobs that men push a side and think they are less important. These issues include child care, house work and balancing work and home life. It also included a sentence from President Obama and his opinion on this topic. Obama stated ; “It’s time we stop treating child care as a side issue, or a woman’s issue, and treat it like the national economic priority that it is for all of us.”. I chose this article because this has been an issue I have always been passionate about and desired solutions to this. It has stated many things that I agree with, including, men also have to take charge, and we can’t just complain and expect something to happen. This relates to The Friday Everything Changed because they both cover the issue of gender roles and gender specific jobs. For example, men go out and work (the boys carrying the water buckets), and women stay inside and clean (the girls stay in class and learn).
