I interviewed Tyler Motte who is a hockey player for the Vancouver Canucks

I interviewed Tyler because I am passionate about hockey and I watch the Canucks regularly. Watching Tyler play made me want to interview him because by the way he plays and works hard I could tell he was passionate about hockey too. Playing hockey for 7 years, there have been questions I have always had about being a professional hockey player and after being able to interview him, I got the answers I wanted.

I put my media in a word document in a link below because I had troubles with pictures on my blog

Below are my questions and Tyler’s answers

Why are you passionate about your job?

I’m passionate about my job because I love doing what I do and it offers different challenges everyday.

What obstacles have you faced to get you where you are today?

“I’ve had many different types of obstacles. Many being physical, being injured many times In my career from concussions to broken bones. There are also uncontrollable obstacles, for me a big one was / is my height, I’m only 5’9 and in hockey many players get over looked when they are smaller.”

What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?

“My advice is to work hard everyday, if you enjoy what you’re doing it may not seem like work but you should always push yourself to be the best you can be. Make sure you have fun and enjoy the journey.”

Would you be open to further contact from Riverside students and if so, how can someone contact you?

“I’m happy to help students in anyway, they can contact me directly or through the Canucks.”

What age did you know you wanted to be a professional hockey player?

“Like every young kid I had always hoped to get a chance to play professional hockey, but it wasn’t until I was drafted in the NHL draft that even I started to believe it was possible.”

How did you get noticed by scouts?

“Scouts, will always find good players, it’s up to the players to work hard and get better and scouts will find you”
