What Would an Ethic of Care Towards the Environment Look Like

An ethic of care is the opposite of justice, a kind of labour, and particular relationships, which includes attention, responsibilities, competence, and reaction. Therefore, We need to be more aware of things that are happening around us, and making actions or finding solutions for it. The problems may or may not be solved, but it is worth to try and make a positive influence between either people or the environment. Also, we would have to believe that the earth has already covered in wounds because of human’s interaction with nature. we take lots of resources from nature, but seldom thought about how to recover, or how long it will take to recover.

Take the example of producing too much waste and garbage into the environment. I can personally decrease the trash I make, use my own straw or shopping bag, do recycle properly, etc.  It is nice to have a good example, but not everyone is following the same ethic although I am sure there are more than just me doing this. To change the phenomenon of trash throwing everywhere, we have to start changing people’s hobby or the way people think. by doing this, it will absolutely solve the problem. However, it might slow down the economic, since we produced fewer items, there will be less money flowing.

It is might be a good thing to adopt an ethic of care towards the environment, but we should also be more aware of taking care of the environment and keeping in mind.

  1. Yes, I think a good starting place for care is to see the environment as being in need of care.
So do you see the economy and the environment as opposites?

Good job. This was a interesting read.
