Synthesis Reaction:

A + B –> AB

ex: 3Mg + N2 –> Mg3N2

Decomposition Reaction:

AB –> A + B

ex: 2AuCl3 –> 2Au + 3Cl2

Single Replacement Reaction:

AB + C –> AC + B

ex: 3PbCl4  +   4Al –> 4AlCl3 + 3Pb

 

Double Replacement Reaction:

AB + CD –> AC + BD

ex: 3NaOH  +  FeCl3 –> 3NaCl  +  Fe(OH)3

Summary:

In this assignment we were supposed to create four chemical reaction analogies using creativity, logic, and a cool way to present our idea. I decided to base mine on food, pizza and accessories to be specific. We had to show all four basic laws for each reaction; as well as, a real life example using real elements and then balancing them out. This assignment taught me a lot and I was able to show my understandings as well to make sure I understood what I was doing.
