The story “The Open Window” is a funny story about a man named Framton Nuttel. Everything made him feel nervous so his sister gave his some advice to go to the country and visit to the home of one of these neighbors, a Mrs. Sappleton. He met first her niece, a young lady named Vera. Vera made him nervous because she told Framton why the French window was keep open in October. It was because Mrs. Sappleton’ s husband and brothers with a dog went hunting and never came back. When Mrs. Sappleton entered the room. She talked about her husband and brothers, and said they will be back soon from hunting. Framton thinks that was a impossible thing. After that, he saw three figures were walking across the lawn with a brown dog. He was so dreadful, and he grabbed his hat and ran wildly out of the house. Mrs. Sappleton was surprised. She didn’t know why he ran away. The lady explained that Framton ran away because of the dog. The story was all Vera made up.
